What ho!
The big day has finally arrived! The Royal Wedding is upon us! Prince William Arthur Philip Louis is wedding the commoner, Catherine Elizabeth "Kate" Middleton. Ah, the romance, the pageantry!
I am, as you read this, sitting in front of the television, sobbing quietly with tears of joy. Like the big dork I am. When I first heard that Royal Wedding coverage was starting at 4:00 am, I thought "I'm in!" I had a whole plan in the works that involved waking up predawn, brewing a pot of tea, wearing one of my big hats and nibbling on scones while watching the festivities.
Then I realized that it was 4:00 am EASTERN TIME, which meant 1:00 am in Los Angeles and I said "To hell with that!"
So, I am TiVoing, and watching as soon as I get up. Unfortunately, Jude is on Spring Break (how thoughtlessof Wills and Kate to have planned it thusly) and he will no doubt be driving me crazy, as he has little interest in royal nuptials.
I hope you are all watching and celebrating in your own way. I have not yet managed to find someone to send me a William and Kate commemorative tea towel. Any ideas?
My brilliantly funny and rather silly friend Randy played a game on Facebook with his friends who, sadly, were not invited to the Royal Wedding.
One must come up with their British aristocracy name thusly...
- Lady/Lord
- First name of a grandparent.
- Last name is a hyphenation of A) a first pet and - B) a street you grew up on.
So my name would be Lady Dorothea Fideaux-Bee Caves.
Jimmy would be Lord Antonio Snoopy-Woodland.
Jude? Lord Roy Imogene-Beachwood.
My best friend, Kaysie, who is the only person in the world that I know who is as obsessed with all things royal family as I am, is Lady Nancy Daisy-Ledgewood.
So what is YOUR British Aristocracy name? Please share.
Top notch. pip-pip, cheerio, what-what!
Lady Ida Mae Hampton Canfield kindly declines the nuptials celebration in favor of sleep and cake-baking but thanks all for the kind invitation.

I can't wait to scan through my DVR'd wedding coverage! I've seen some pictures, and the Duchess looked gorgeous. I wish we were calling her Princess Kate. Oh well.

I flipped over to CNN when I woke up and saw the dress. Then I turned it off. My name would be
Lady Joan Boz-Valley View

Lady Mary Alexander-Wallace here (it should actually be Alexander-Wallace Dairy Road, but I decided to shorten it) :)

I like the Emma part. Not so sure about the other.
Kate had a great dress. That's all I've seen so far.

We were up at 4 a.m. - actually, Beloved was up at 4, I was up at 5 - and watched the whole damn thing until we had to leave for work at 7:45. I'll be interested to hear what you think, especially of Kate's dress, and Princess Beatrice's "hat" (aka as "those mutant antlers" in our house).
Sincerely, Lady Mabeth Beauregard-Western Park

All I have to ask is, "What is up with those ridiculous hats?"
