Aaaaaah. I think that cooled us off. Seals and Crofts. I'll never forget one summer when I was a kid, when Mama went to work at the State Capitol and casually asked her coworkers "Isn't a croft a little farm?" Confused as to why she was asking this, her fellow employees told her it was. A while later, she asked "Could they have built a little village inside the Municipal Auditorium?" Baffled, her friends asked her what on earth she was talking about. "Well," Mama said innocently, "I drove past the Municipal Auditorium this morning, and on the big sign is said 'Seals and Crofts'. And I understand the seals part, I guess it's some kind of a circus animal show, but why would they have the seals in a little farm?" They never let her forget this one. I think that was the same year they gave her an "Herb Garden" for Christmas, and after she devotedly watered and tended her herbs, she grew a huge box of beautiful basil, thyme and ...marijuana. Poor Mama.
