Television characters that I wish were my real friends...
Laurie Partridge - The Partridge Family
I spent much of my childhood dreaming of having Laurie Partridge
as a friend. Not only was she groovy and smart and funny and played in a
BAND. But also, I figured that if I was hanging out with her that would
give me the opportunity to run into her brother, Keith, as often as
possible. Dreamy.
Lucy Ricardo - I Love Lucy
Wouldn't Lucy and I have FUN! I would be an excellent Ethel. I'd let
Lucy get me in all kinds of zany trouble, because I have a hard time
saying no to crazy schemes. It's been a problem all my life. I'm up for
pretty much anything. I know that sometimes we'd fight, but by the end
of the half hour we'd always cry and hug and makeup. I'd always love
Lucy.
Monica Geller - Friends
I feel like Monica's kind of obsessive personality would get me
organized, and encourage me to be a little more tidy. And I've always
wanted a friend who was a chef! Plus, she has that great apartment in
the Village. We might have problems playing games, such as Pictionary,
because we're both kind of...competitive that way, but we'd make up for
this by sharing stories about our dorky high school years.
Mitchell and Cameron - Modern Family
Every girl's got to have a gay couple who loves them! They would totally be my BFFs.We'd hang out and gossip and be witty and eat great food and talk about our kids. SO want this.
Samantha Stephens - Bewitched
Well,
duh. Who wouldn't want to be friends with a WITCH? Maybe I could also
hang out with her mom and Uncle Arthur and those guys too!
Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte - Sex and the City
I
should absolutely be the fifth in their group! I wear expensive clothes
very well, and would LOVE to have an extensive shoe wardrobe! Plus, I
can seriously hold my Cosmopolitans.
Olivia Walton - The Waltons
We would hang out and can and put up vegetables and mend socks. Sometimes we could sit on the porch and snap peas or maybe piece a quilt and talk about the kids.
Captain Jack Harkness - Torchwood
Okay, maybe not your typical gay BFF, but definitely a lot of fun. We'd save the world a time or two and fight some aliens. And maybe even get drunk and make out while he's working out the whole bisexual thing. PLUS, he knows Doctor Who!
Liz Lemon - 30 Rock
Yes, I know that Liz tends to be a little neurotic and self-involved. But who isn't? Both of our lives revolve around food. We both love Star Wars. We were both the dorkiest of teenagers. Plus, 30 Rock? I want to go there.
Alice Kramden - The Honeymooners
What fun we would have keeping each other company while ironing Ralph and Jimmy's laundry and maybe even taking Mambo classes together. We could practice our sarcastic looks and sassy zingers and complain about our husbands - I'm afraid Alice and I are both "long-suffering" in the husband department!
But alas, none of them are my real friends. At least I have all of you. What fictional folk would you want to be best friends with?

You came up with some good ones. I wouldn't mind being friends with Lucy (for laughs), Olivia (for domestic assistance and Christian friendship).

Great list. I think Monica would be on my list, too.

Jean Luc Picard always tops my list of imaginary, ahem, friends. :)

I would love to be friends with Monica. I think I AM Monica. :-)

I'd have to say I love to be friends with any of the guys from Big Bang. With them I could let my geek flag fly and it wouldn't matter. I think I might fit in nicely with Penny, Bernadette, and Amy.
My spin is up:

Totally Mitchell and Cam, but I'd add Lorelai Gilmore from Gilmore Girls.

lol Love that list. There are a couple on there I don't know, but that's cuz I haven't watched tv in ages. =) I like your reasoning for Monica! Lucy would've been hysterical and I love Mrs. Walton!

Love, love this list!! I would love to be the fifth friend in Sex and the City too. Lucille Ball cracks me up - I'm sure you've seen the candy making episode - I can't breathe, I'm laughing so hard when I see that one. And, Monica, just seems like such a solid friend. Totally agree! Liz Lemon's negativity might stress me out a little, but she would totally be fun to work with, she's so goofy-the hubby and I love 30 Rock - Tracy Jordan absolutely cracks us up. Thanks for sharing an awesome list! :)
